Protect Your Children With Parental controls

Another security software apart from anti-spyware and eusing free registry cleaner is content-control software, also known as censor ware or web filtering software is a term for software designed and optimized for controlling what content is permitted to a reader, especially when it is used to restrict material delivered over the Web. Content-control software determines what content will be available on a particular machine or network; the motive is often to prevent persons from viewing content which the computer's owner(s) or other authorities may consider objectionable; when imposed without the consent of the user, content control can constitute censorship. Common use cases of such software include parents who wish to limit what sites their children may view from home computers, schools performing the same function with regard to computers found at school, and parents restricting what content may be viewed by children’s.

Parental controls are options, typically included in digital television services, computer and video games, or computer software used to access the Internet, that allows a parent to monitor or limit what a child can see or do and/or time-limit these activities. These controls may allow for the blocking of television stations using V-Chip technology, the removal of gore from computer games, the blocking of various websites, such as those containing pornography, or the automatic censoring of swearing.

Several technologies exist in creating parental controls for blocking websites. The API method uses the operating-system programming interface to gather information about a foreign application such as browsers and chat applications to seize control of the foreign application when the information gathered triggers a positive in a database of banned words. Parental control software using API technology is limited to shutting down the offending application; in some cases, a different action like deleting the offending words may be possible depending on how the offending application is programmed.

The next widely utilized technology is the proxy server method. An application such as a browser will communicate with the proxy server and the proxy server will then handle the request and fetch the Web page and return it to the browser. This helps security because the workstation never deals directly with the foreign server but only with the proxy, which can also speed up the connection and alleviate congestion by caching content locally.

Another way security is improved with proxy servers is to inspect the data being sent and received; if by rules of definitions the data is tagged bad, then the proxy server can act like a firewall and deny the communication. In this example the proxy server is an http proxy and receives an http header request for a Web page; the server will parse the host section or the get section of the header and do a search in a database of banned (user-defined) words or banned (user-defined) URLs. If there is a positive match the proxy server never relays the request to the remote server, but instead either returns nothing or leaves the response to the local client application to deal with, or returns an alternative response to the request, such as a custom "denied" page or a redirection header.

Why You Should Be Teaching Children To Speak Spanish

Some parents still remain skeptical about teaching their kids Spanish as a second language, especially at a very early age. They believe that teaching children to speak Spanish before they can even start talking in English can affect their speaking and reading skills big time. These parents argue that children may get confused and mix up their words, or may take a longer time cognitively. Little do they know that they are actually doing their kids a huge favor in the future by raising them to be bilinguals.

The Spanish language is the third most used language in the world – just ranking a little ahead of English. In the US alone, a huge percentage of people are native Spanish speakers as the Latin culture is fast becoming more and more a part of the American lifestyle. Teaching children to speak Spanish while they still have the amazing ability to easily grasp it – compared to adults – can help them in a lot more ways than we realize.

Children can learn to speak everyday Spanish through a lot of different ways. Parents can teach their kids by making them listen to learn to speak Spanish audio CD's, reading Spanish storybooks for kids, online Spanish lessons and songs – whichever way, they are able to arm their kids with social and cognitive skills that they can use as they go about the world around them. When letting kids use the computer just remember to have security tools like antivirus, antispyware, parental controls and eusing registry cleaner in place. You never know what can be downloaded to the computer.

The world is turning global and your bilingual kid is not left behind. Kids who can speak a second language like Spanish have the ability to interact with a culture other than their own. Thus, they grow up very conversational and confident since they know that they can deal with a lot of people, and they usually land better jobs.

When kids learn to speak everyday Spanish, they are able to communicate with Hispanics – which can be their classmate, neighbor or friend - and do not feel a sense of superiority to any language that is not English. Rather, they understand the differences more, knowing that learning a language is a way to connect to a huge part of the world, especially since language is not a barrier. They are able to meet a lot of friends which they wouldn't otherwise get to know if they didn't know Spanish.

Teaching children to speak Spanish is of great benefit especially in families which have a Latin heritage, and are able to impart to their children an appreciation and connection to their roots – developing a sense of pride in their diverse cultures as well as a deep love for family. For the parents and their [kids, online Spanish lessons], games and story time are not just times for learning but for bonding as well.

Kids who have spent time listening to learn to speak Spanish audio CDs or immersing themselves in the Spanish language, in any way, are found to perform better than monolingual kids. They have better problem solving skills and are more creative. This fact can be seen in the SATs – a test given to highschool seniors. In 2006, SAT results show that those who scored highest in the Critical Reading sections are those who had spent four or more years studying a foreign language.

Teaching children to speak Spanish is always a good option. There is nothing wrong with preparing your child to enter a world of diversity – it is even beneficial for them since they are not limited to exploring things in an English world only, but are free to explore other parts of it and do so in a different view – through another language.

Approaches To Teaching Children To Speak Spanish

Children are said to have the ability to learn a foreign language more easily than adults, especially when you start teaching them at a very young age. Teaching children to speak Spanish can prepare them to face today's world where being bilingual opens a whole lot of possibilities, as well as allows them to learn about cultures other than their own.

But, no matter how easily they grasp a new language, it is still important to have the right approaches or methods in getting these kids learn to speak everyday Spanish. Learning a totally different language is more than just memorizing words – there are pronunciations, conjugations that also need mastering.

1. Arm yourself with the proper tools for teaching children to speak Spanish. There are a lot of resources available out there – from fun books, to learn to speak Spanish audio CDs or online lessons you can use on the computer. As a recommendation don't forget to have security on your computer, like anti-spyware, eusing free registry cleaner and parental controls.

Choose whatever approach will suit both you and your child, so that learning will not be a chore for your kids.

2. Passive listening is one of the best approaches to teaching kids the Spanish language. This can help even before they formally start learning the language. Allowing the kids to listen to learn to speak Spanish audio CDs or leaving the TV tuned to a Spanish channel, familiarizes them with the flow of the language – the right pronunciations – as well as with certain words. The kid doesn't even have to pay attention, but the language will stick to him, making it easier for him to learn the language.

3. A fun approach to teaching your kids to learn to speak everyday Spanish is always a safe bet. Kids learn fast when they are having fun. Incorporate your lessons during story-time when kids are more comfortable. Start with a simple story that the child can understand. Try reading some of the keywords in the story in Spanish or identify some objects in the picture and name them in Spanish. Your kid may or may not repeat the words – do not force them. It would be better to allow the child to learn at his own pace.

4. As you advance, introduce new words into the lesson. You can try role playing or singing some Spanish songs. Songs are great for recall and your kid can have fun doing the actions that come with the song.

5. Make a game out of the lessons through flashcards. Have the kid pick a card and read the word written on it, or ask him to name in Spanish the picture that appears on the cards. For variety, there are also boardgames and online games which are geared towards teaching kids Spanish.

6. Give a lot of encouragement when teaching children to speak Spanish. Allow your child to freely express himself in Spanish even if he's doing it wrong. Negative replies like “You're wrong” or “No” can discourage your child.

What you can do is to correct the mistakes by using the same expression correctly a few minutes after, or you can use an 'alternative reply' approach – which is directing your child to choose the correct answer in a choice of two, with “the other” as the correct choice. Your child will be made to think that he's got the right answers and has not made a mistake.

Teaching children to speak Spanish is not that hard if you know the right approaches. Remember that learning and speaking Spanish should be fun and stress-free for both you and your kids. When the kids have fun during the learning process, they will also learn to love the language.

Another fun session is to pop into the DVD player some Spanish tutorial videos for kids online Spanish lessons. Then there are interactive games and vocabulary quizzes which you can use to test your child’s Spanish comprehension skills.

It is unavoidable for your child to commit mistakes in grammar or pronunciation. This is a normal part of teaching children to speak Spanish. Without mistakes, there won't be learning after all, right? But it is better if you correct your child in a more positive approach. Rather than telling him “No, you're wrong” or “That's not right”, lead him to the right answer by offering two options, with one obviously being the correct answer. So when your child answers “agua” instead of “pan” you can ask again “agua or pan?”, until your child chooses the correct answer.
